Another prediction!! Croc Harry Picks Spain As Winner
A crocodile named Harry has picked Spain as the winner of World Cup. In the spirit of Paul the octopus, Harry was used to predict the result of the 2010 FIFA World Cup final to be played between Spain and Holland on Sunday midnight India time.
The 700kg reptile – named after Dirty Harry – at Darwin’s Crocosaurus Cove took less than a minute on Saturday to decide Spain would be the new world champions.
Mick Burns, the owner of Crocosaurus Cove, presented two pieces of chicken to the ambush hunter, each one playing under the flag of a national team.
The crowd was cheering in front of Harry’s enclosure and everybody was excited about which treat Harry would eat first.
Crocosaurus Cove sales and marketing manager Sallie Gregory said: “I think Harry goes for the Netherlands since we have a few more Dutch people coming to Croc Cove than Spanish and he likes to entertain his audience.”
Harry initially seemed undecided, but after prowling around for a little he rushed out of the water and went straight for the Spanish bait. After a bit of a tangle, the teams righted themselves, with Spain catching Harry’s eye.
“That means it’s going to be a close and aggressive game with a 1-0 result for Spain,” Mr Burns said.
Harry will find out on Monday morning if his powers of prediction rival Paul the Octopus. The eight-legged German sea creature has correctly predicted the outcome of every German clash since the start of the World Cup.
