Boosts immunity

Honey is known to be a powerful immunity booster because of its antioxidant properties. “Its anti-bacterial properties act against the germs present in your system and help you fight disease,” says Dr Shelat.

Remedy for sore throats

“Honey has natural anti-microbial properties because of which it has the ability to kill germs and bacteria present in the throat,” says Dr Shelat. It soothes throat problems and is particularly useful in treating sore throats. Drink a glass of warm water with honey in it to soothe your throat.

Gets rid of stomach problems

“The pH of honey lies between 3.2 and 4.5. This relatively acidic pH level allows honey to curb the growth of bacteria that causes a number of stomach problems,” says Dr Shelat. Honey can also be used to get rid of acidity.

Heals cuts and bruises faster

“The anti-inflammatory and anti-bacterial properties of honey help in the process of healing skin and tissues,” says Dr Shelat. Whenever you have cuts and bruises, simply eating a spoon of honey will control any infection.

Cures arthritis

“Arthritis is the inflammation of muscles and joints. Honey has natural anti- inflammatory properties which make it a healing tonic,” says Dr Shelat. It can help in curing arthritis by controlling the swelling caused by the inflammation.
