New Delhi: According to latest media reports, veteran BJP leader may resign as the Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha, paving the way for Sushma Swaraj to take over. BJP President is likely to step down on Saturday. Nitin Gadkari is all set to replace him.
BJP is going for a major organisational change after the series of shocking poll defeats. There was a call for more power for the younger generation and the party is exactly doing that.
Advani is likely to announce his resignation as the Leader of Opposition during the Parliamentary Party meeting on December 21. Sushma Swaraj, who is tipped to replace him, is currently the Deputy Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha.
It is not immediately known who will become the Deputy Leader of BJP in Lok Sabha. Gopinath Munde and Ananth Kumar are the top contenders for this post.
